Exciting news! Lionbridge and IBM have signed a partnership agreement to accelerate the development and commercialization of real-time translation automation.

The two companies will share patents and jointly develop a customizable, real-time multilingual communication platform that combines the capabilities of Lionbridge's cloud-based translation memory and IBM's Real-Time Translation Services (RTTS).

The combined solution will provide organizations with a rapidly-customizable solution for cost-effectively translating - in real time - multilingual communication such as eSupport, user generated content, websites, research reports, blogs, community support forums, chat and more.

Analyst firm Common Sense Advisory states that 99% of enterprise content never gets translated. This is due to time and cost barriers of human translation, deployment barriers of traditional machine translation products and quality barriers of free-ware applications. This partnership will eliminate these hurdles by providing a SaaS-based, real-time solution that can be customized using each organization's existing language assets to increase translation quality and efficiency. By offering an easy-to-deploy, real-time, "translate now" widget, the combined Lionbridge IBM solution will enable enterprises to increase communication with employees, customers and partners and extend their global reach.
